Attention Community Schools! Become a Host Site for AmeriCorps!

In preparation for the 2017-2018 school year, the Office of Community Schools is releasing the AmeriCorps Host Site Application.  OCS, in partnership with NYC Service, has submitted a proposal for continued funding and is awaiting award announcements from the federal government.  In the meantime, we are moving ahead with our plans to place members at community schools.  There are a few changes you will notice from previous years:

·         All interested schools/ CBOs must apply and be selected by OCS to host AmeriCorps members

·         Host sites may request up to 8 AmeriCorps members to serve at one school

·         All members will serve as Success Mentors

·         Host sites will contribute between $1,650 and $3,000 toward the cost of each member placed at their school

Submit any questions to americorpscs@schools.nyc.gov by March 10th.
